UFC London: Marc “Bonecrusher” Diakiese vs. Stevie “Braveheart” Ray
Our sources have confirmed (and first reported by Chisanga Malata) that a fight is in the works between exciting UFC Lightweight Marc Diakiese (14-3) and Scottish fighter Stevie “Braveheart” Ray (23-9) when the promotion returns to London’s O2 Arena on March 21st, in a fight that had previously been scheduled for last year’s London card, but was cancelled after Ray pulled out with an injury Diakiese, will look to continue his winning ways after two consecutive wins, with his last win coming over Lando Vannata at UFC Copenhagen in September via a dominant decision. The English superstar is known for his brutal striking, with 50% of his wins coming within the distance, with six of those seven finishes being knockouts.
“Bonecrusher” will be taking on Ray in his ninth UFC fight, with five wins and three losses in the promotion, and faces a tough test in London.
Ray, a former Cage Warriors champion, comes into the fight with a 22-8 record (7-4 in the UFC) and is one of Scotland’s most exciting fighters, with wins over the likes of Ross Pearson and Joe Lauzon on his record going into his 12th fight for the promotion.
“Braveheart” last fought Michael Johnson at UFC Singapore in October, taking a majority decision victory, and the Scotsman has proven finishing ability with six KO wins and eight submission wins.
This fight is going to be an absolute belter. Can Diakiese overcome the former Cage Warriors champion, or will Stevie Ray come out of the O2 Arena with his head, and the Scottish flag, held high?
